Pops is a very quaint BBQ joint with a huge menu selection and great atmosphere.It has the locally owned vibe with the wooden sign out front and the gravel parking lot. You seat yourself when you walk in and the staff grab your drink and food orders quickly. Food came out in less than 10 minutes on a Friday night. I enjoyed my brisket plate (regular size) with the free homemade potato chips as starter. I would definitely stop here again if I was in the area.
As alwa6s the smoked Turkey was so moist & delicious. Service was a little slow & had no cashier so the waitresses were having to be cashier as well. Just wished y'all would at least stay open till 4p. JS
While visiting the area, we tried a local BBQ place, and we were not disappointed!!! The ribs were absolutely delicious, and the baked potato with pulled pork was perfect. The bbq sauce they make is a great compliment to the meat. It's definitely a must try if you're in the area. The food is amazing. The sweet tea is also delicious.
Took a stroll to Pop's place from the Petro today and am glad I did! Best homemade potato chips I ever had. The turkey sandwich was out of this world and beans and okra too? All sauces made in-house 5 star food and the cutest girls in Alabama working there too Cheers
Left the interstate hungry, we passed the chain restaurants and we see this little place with a parking lot full of cars. So we stopped. Outside the air smelled like BBQ. Inside, nothing fancy but tables are all full except the one we headed for. A charming waitress took our order. Special requests, no problem. Quickly homemade potatoes ribbons appeared, very good. Then the main course, very generous and very delicious. We only wished we had room for dessert. Very glad we stopped!!!
Great family barbecue place. Had a friend, who likes bbq, in town from Canada. We called in advance to be sure that we could bring a little pup if we ate outside and were told that was fine. Upon our arrival there were no tables set up outside so I stuck my head inside and asked. Our waitress brought chairs outside (wouldn’t let me carry them), wiped the table, got our drinks and took our order. Evidently they don’t usually seat people outside except in cooler weather or when packed inside. Our waitress not only took care of us, but she also took good care of the dog. She brought out a bone after checking to be sure I was okay with it and asked about a bowl and water (which we had brought with us). I had the brisket nachos and my friend had a regular brisket plate. Both lunches were very good and the waitress was very attentive even though we were her only customers outside. Great folks and good food. Love their homemade potato chips. Have eaten there before and will gladly eat there again.
I ordered the turkey sandwich meal, this was really good because of the smoked turkey!! I really enjoyed it!! They toast the bread also and on the onion rings, I think it would of been better if it was lightly seasoned but it was fried 2 perfection, I'm definitely going back 2 try that brisket!!
